Day 1: Pick Up and Transfer to Kinigi – Visit Ibyiwacu Cultural Village
Arrival and pick up from the Kigali international airport or Pick up from your hotel in Kigali early morning and embark on a 2 – 3 hours’ drive to Muzanze former Ruhengeri province home to Kinigi head office of the Volcanoes national park. Upon arrival, have lunch at your hotel and in the afternoon participate in a fantastic cultural experience at the Ibyiwacu cultural village.
Dinner and overnight at Muhabura hotel (budget), Le Bambou lodge (Deluxe)/ Mountain gorilla view lodge (luxury)
Day 2: Gorilla trekking adventure
Today is the day to see the gorillas, wake up early for a quick breakfast and with your guide, drive to the Kinigi park head offices where briefing takes place. You can enjoy a cup of coffee and Kinyarwanda cultural performance before briefing. Before, you gorilla trek, you will have briefing on the general overview of what takes place once you meet the gorillas, how to conduct.
You have a chance to which they type of hike you want- easy, moderate and tough, so you decide according to your physical ability. Once you meet the gorillas, you get to spend just one hour with them, you can photograph them, watch how they interact with each other not affected by your company! It’s such a wonderful experience.
Note: Your camera should not have Flash light as it can threaten the gorillas.
Once you descend from the forest, have lunch at your hotel and relax, In the afternoon head out to visit twin Lake of Burela and Ruhondo. Later retire to your hotel for dinner and overnight.
Day 3: Transfer to Kigali for City Tour – Departure
Morning breakfast at your hotel and return to Kigali for a Kigali city tour, visiting the Gisozi genocide memorial site and other outstanding tourist attractions around the city and later you will be transferred to the airport for your scheduled flight.
