DAY ONE:
Arrival at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport and transfer to either to a nice hotel in the city for dinner and over night.
DAY TWO:
Depart Nairobi for Kilimanjaro after breakfast, using the Mombasa Road, passing through the Town of Athi River, then branch off and take Namanga Road. Namanga is a border town between Kenya and Tanzania. Clear at the border town of Namanga then proceed to Arusha. Arrive in Arusha in time for lunch, have lunch then proceed to Mt Kilimanjaro National Park. Kilimanjaro, the name itself is a mystery wreathed in clouds.
It might mean Mountain of Light, Mountain of Greatness or Mountain of Caravans. Or it might not. The local people, the Wachagga, don't even have a name for the whole massif, only Kipoo (now known as Kibo) for the familiar snowy peak that stands imperious, overseer of the continent, and the summit of Africa. Kilimanjaro, by any name, is a metaphor for the compelling beauty of East Africa. When you see it, you understand why. Not only is this the highest peak on the African continent; it is also the tallest free-standing mountain in the world, rising in breathtaking isolation from the surrounding coastal scrubland – elevation around 900 metres – to an imperious 5,895 metres. Kilimanjaro is one of the world's most accessible high summits, a beacon for visitors from around the world. The park covers an area of 755 sq km (292 sq miles). Return to Arusha town for dinner and overnight stay at a nice lodge in Arusha.
DAY THREE
Depart to Ngorongoro conservation Area after breakfast, passing through Manyara, Karatu town to arrive in Ngorongoro in good time for lunch. Have lunch and afternoon leisure at the Ngorongoro Sopa lodge. Dinner and overnight at Ngorongoro Sopa lodge.
DAY FOUR
After breakfast depart for Ngorongoro crater for game drive. The Ngorongoro Conservation Area or NCA is a conservation area situated 180 km west of Arusha in the Crater Highlands area of Tanzania. The conservation area is administered by the Ngorongoro Conservation Area Authority, an arm of the Tanzanian government, and its boundaries follow the boundary of the Ngorongoro Division of Ngorongoro District. It covers an area of 8,288 km² - about the size of Crete. The main feature of the NCA is the Ngorongoro Crater, which is the world's largest unbroken, unflooded volcanic caldera. The Crater, which formed when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed on itself some two to three million years ago, it is 610m deep and the floor, is 260km².
Wildebeest are one of the ungulates found in the Crater, a population of approximately 25,000 large animals, largely ungulates along with, the highest density of mammalian predators in Africa, lives in the crater. These include black rhinoceros, and hippopotamus which are very uncommon in the area. There also are many other ungulates: wildebeest, zebra, eland – the biggest antelope, Grant’s and Thomson’s gazelles. The crater has the densest known population of lions. On the crater rim are leopard, elephant, mountain reedbuck, and buffalo.
Depart the Reserve to the lodge for lunch and proceed to Arusha for dinner and overnight stay at the nice lodge in Arusha.
DAY FIVE
Depart to Nairobi after breakfast, using the Arusha – Namanga Road. Arrive at Namanga border town clear with the immigrations and then proceed through Kitengela town, Athi River town, known for cement manufacturing factory to arrive in Nairobi city. Have Lunch and afternoon leisure at a nice hotel in the City of Nairobi. The dinner and overnight stay at the city hotel.
DAY SIX
After breakfast, depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, which is the greatest ornithologists’ paradise show on earth for tourists and bird watching lovers. Using the Mai Mahiu route for the better view of the Great Rift Valley Escarpment, through the town of Naivasha. Arrive at Lake Nakuru, have lunch and afternoon leisure at a nice lodeg in Nakuru.
Embark on the evening game drive of Lake Nakuru National Park. The park covers 188 square kilometers. The National Park is small and beautiful, is one of the easiest parks in Kenya to visit. The park is bordered to the west by one wall of the Rift valley and to the east by a salt-dome hill. The park is one of the conservation areas in Kenya that has the highest rhino population both white and black. It’s fully fenced park and offers a magnificent view of wild game. As you enter the park you are met by the troop of baboons as they play and flight. It also has the big five except the elephant due to the park being small. Lake Nakuru National Park it has a soda lake that is inhabited by the flamingoes, which makes sometimes the lake to look pink. About a million flamingoes are seen with different species of birds have also been recorded about 450 in total. Return to the nice lodge for dinner and overnight stay.
DAY SEVEN
After breakfast depart for Lake Nakuru National Park, using Mai Mahiu road, passing through the Great Rift Valley Escarpment that runs all the way from Jordan to Beira in Mozambique. The Rift valley offers the magnificent sceneries such as the ridges and the mountains. Proceed through the town of Narok, named after Narok meaning dirt water. Arrive at a nice Lodge in Masai Mara National Reserve for lunch at afternoon leisure.
Afternoon game drive of Masai Mara National Reserve. The reserve is renowned as one of the Eighth Wonders of the World – migration of wildebeest. The migration entails about 1.5 million wildebeest, 0.3 million zebras and assorted antelopes as the cross the crocodile infested Mara River. The reserve covers an area of 1672 square kilometers. It has the ‘Big Five’ such as black manned lion, leopard, rhino, elephant and the most dangerous animal in African continent the buffalo. Return to the lodge for Dinner and overnight at the nice Lodge.
DAY EIGHT
Early morning Game drive of Masai Mara National Reserve, explore the reserve further for any possible kill and any game that was not spotted earlier. The reserve is also known as dotted plains due to the flat plains and the hills which provide magnificent view. Return the lodge for Breakfast and morning leisure. Lunch and afternoon Leisure.
Embark on the evening game drive of Masai Mara National Reserve well known for its breathtaking views as seen in the movie “Out of Africa” much of which was filmed here. The reserve is a continuation of Mara – Serengeti Ecosystem. Serengeti is a Maasai word meaning endless plains. Masai Mara is also a world heritage site by UNESCO. The bird life in the Mara is a profuse as it mammalian counterpart. Occasionally, visitors are held by elephants on the road. Return to the nice lodge for Dinner and overnight.
DAY NINE
Early morning game drive and explore the reserve further for more game. Return the lodge for breakfast and mid morning Leisure. Lunch and afternoon Leisure at the lodge. Embark on the afternoon game drive of the Mara. Dinner and overnight at the nice lodge for Dinner and overnight.
DAY TEN
After breakfast depart Masai Mara for Nairobi passing through the town of Narok, Mai Mahiu then to arrive in Nairobi for lunch at a nice restaurant in Nairobi City. Tour of city and shopping. Dinner at the Carnivore for game meat and transfer to Jomo Kenyatta Airport for departure from Kenya.
