Day 1: Kampala to Queen Elizabeth
You will be picked up from your hotel by our experienced safari guide/driver.
Head towards the west following the mystical Rwenzori Mountain range for much of the journey. We will continue through savannah grasslands seeing banana plantations and herds of Ankole cattle with their incredible long curving horns. A game drive Enroute may be rewarded with views of Lions, Elephants, Leopards, Buffaloes, Hyenas and a variety of Antelope species. After lunch, go for the afternoon launch cruise from Mweya to Lake Edward and back. Expect to see buffaloes, Lions and birds.
Dinner and over night at Mweya safari lodge/Kyambura game lodge/Katara Lodge / Simba safari Camp.
Day 2: Queen to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Past Breakfast, leave for Bwindi National Park via the Ishasha sector known for the rare and mysterious tree climbing lions. At Ishasha look out for the rare cats on the fig trees. Continue to Bwindi, home to the endangered mountain gorillas with lunch enroute. Bird and primate life in Bwindi is quite superb, and there is an incredible variety of flora.
Overnight at Gorilla forest Camp/Gorilla resort/Lodge/Buhoma Community Bandas.
Day 3: Gorilla Tracking in Bwindi Forest National Park
Have a very early breakfast and leave at 8:30am for briefing by UWA officials before going for gorilla tracking. Tracking gorillas through the impenetrable forest may take 2-8 hrs. Carry packed lunch. The activity requires patience and endurance but coming face to face with Man’s shy cousins in the jungle is an inspiring moment. Expect to see other primates like chimpanzees, black and white Colobus monkeys, birds like the rare Shoebill stock and butterflies.
Overnight at Gorilla forest Camp Gorilla resort/Lodge/Buhoma Community Bandas.
Day 4: Bwindi to Lake Mburo National Park
Past breakfast, depart for Lake Mburo National Park via Kanungu, Rukungiri and Ntungamo towns. This scenic drive will take you to Mbarara where you will stop for a lunch break at Agip hotel. Continue to Rwonyo park headquarters through the Sanga gate renown for Zebras. This Park contains an extensive area of wetland which is a habitat for a variety of birds including the rare shoebill stork. Expect to see Zebras, impalas, elands, topi and buffaloes. Take a nature walk to the salt lick.
Dinner and overnight at Mantana luxury tented camp.
Day 5: Nature walk and Boat trip
Past breakfast go for a guided nature walk. Expect to see zebra, Impala, antelope, Topi. After lunch go for a boat trip on Lake Mburo which will take you to the hippo school institute, expect to see crocodiles, buffaloes and plenty of birds.
Dinner and overnight at Mantana tented Camp / Arcadia Cottages / Rwonyo Rest Camp.
Day 6: Lake Mburo to Kampala
Mid morning check out and get going on a journey back to Kampala via the Nshara gate with lunch enroute. Make a stopover at the equator to participate in the water experiment and get to know changes in your body weight while at the equator. Carry on and stop at the Mpambire drum village, a chance to buy a locally made drum. Proceed to Kampala arriving late in the evening for dinner and overnight in your hotel.
