Visit Lake Nakuru National Park and enjoy yourself thoroughly during this full day excursion. The daytime trip takes you right into the Great Rift Valley. On the way you will stop at View Point on the great escarpment. The distance to Lake Nakuru is 165kms from Nairobi. During the trip, bottled water will be served. You will arrive Nakuru in time for lunch.

Sarova Hill Lodge is the perfect place for this hot meal. Vegetarian and non-vegetarian foods are served. The choice is yours. Lake Nakuru is the home hundreds of white and pink flamingoes, white pelican, the White Rhino, buffalo, leopard, huge families of monkeys and baboons, some carrying their young ones on the back or breastfeeding them on tree branches. Antelopes, gazelles and water bucks are in plenty. Bird watchers will love the over three hundred bird species.

Take a quick drive through the City of Nairobi’s Central Business District viewing the shopping center, City market, the Mausoleum, Parliament Building, Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC), the Railway Station and the National Archives.From the National Archives, drive towards the Moi Avenue, straight on to join the University Way, remembering to look at your right hand direction to see the first and oldest University in Kenya, the University of Nairobi.

Drive through the Uhuru highway and Museum Hill to the National Museum, "the Finest Small Museum in Africa" well known for its fine collections of Kenya’s heritage, Colonial memoires, and various artifacts. Next to the Museum is the Snake Park, where you will see many types of most venomous, poisonous Africa’s tropical snakes and non-poisonous snakes.

Depart in the morning and drive south west of Nairobi past the Animal Orphanage, Bomas of Kenya and the Nairobi National Park to the Daphne Sheldrick Elephant Sanctuary. Make sure you are at this Sanctuary at 11.00 am or you will not be allowed entry after this hour. Enjoy a rare moment of feeding and touching elephants. An excursion to the Elephant Sanctuary (Daphne Sheldrick) is a wonderful and refreshing experience. The tour gives you a rare interaction with orphaned elephants. Week-end Traditional Dances (Saturday & Sunday)

Visit Bomas of Kenya during the week-end for 2 hours from 1530 hrs – 1715 hrs for traditional dances of the various Kenyan communities. There are also captivating acrobatic entertainment. The body movements and agility capture your eyes and the mind focus is on these very special African performances. Bomas of Kenya is located south west of Nairobi 10kms from the City Centre. The word ‘Bomas’ means ‘homestead’. It is a representation of Kenya’s cultural heritage. The numerous traditional songs are danced every Saturday and Sunday afternoon. Similar entertainments are also held during the public holidays.

Drive to the largest picnic site in Kenya (54 acres of pure fun). This is the home of Stone Age caves believed to be 2.5 million years old, rare natural trees believed to be hundreds of years old. The river reeds will capture your eyes as you get transfixed gazing at their beauty. Amid bird watching, enjoy the nature trails, feed the Maasai Ostrich, enjoy fishing, horse riding, camel riding, coffee farms, and boat riding. The tour returns to the city centre.

Take this tour excursion of ‘City in the Sun’ as the Nairobi City is nicknamed. Mix the tour with both driving and walking. You will have a local guide to show you around. Take all your time to shop, take photographs of the City’s landmarks such as: the Kenyatta International Conference Centre (KICC), Parliament Buildings, the famous colorful Nairobi Maasai Market, and the Kenya National Archives.

Depart in the morning and drive south west of Nairobi to the Giraffe Center situated in Karen. The Giraffe Centre also known as The African Fund for Endangered Wildlife Kenya (A.F.E.W. Kenya) is a non-governmental, non-profit making organization, which was founded by Betty and Jock Leslie-Melville in 1979. It was founded in a bid to save the endangered Rothschild Giraffe, which had lost its natural habitat in Western Kenya to agriculture and there were only 130 left in the wild.

Funds were raised and four herds were moved to four parks namely: Lake Nakuru National Park, Mwea Game Reserve, Ruma National Park and Nasalot Game Reserve. Today there are about 500 Rothschild Giraffes. Spend about 2 hours at the Giraffe Center then proceed to Kazuri Beads for another 2 hours and Karen Blixen for another 2 hours.

Depart in the morning and visit the Kazuri Beads. The Kazuri workshop is situated in Karen, an area South West of Nairobi named after Karen Blixen, author of the novel 'Out Of Africa'. Karen, a beautiful area just a few miles outside Nairobi, lies under the Ngong Hills between Kenya's bustling capital and the spectacular Rift valley. Kazuri, which means “small and beautiful” in Swahili, began in 1975 as a tiny workshop experimenting on making handmade beads.

Its founder, the late employed many skilled local women to handmade the jewellery, ornaments, beads, bags and ceramic necklaces, unique pottery-ware and dinnerware. These ornaments and artifacts are painted in rich colours. The decors reflect the rich Kenyan culture, wildlife and birdlife. Spend 2 hours at Kazuri Beads, admiring hundreds of beads, shopping for these rare superb ‘African-ware’, then proceed to Karen Blixen for 2 hours. Finally visit the Giraffe Centre for another 2 hours before returning to your hotel.

Visit Bomas of Kenya during the week days for an elaborate cultural Tour of the ‘various Kenyan villages’ built at the Bomas of Kenya. Each ‘village’ or arrangement of the homestead is fashioned as per the specific community. After the Cultural Village Tour, get entertained to the cultural dances. The numerous traditional songs that are danced each day from 1430 hours to 1700 hours are drawn from different communities in Kenya. The dance entertainments take place in the Main Bomas Hall. Thereafter one can take a walk to the traditional arts under the trees to eastern direction of the Main Boma Hall. These huts are symbolic of the Kenyan traditional homesteads. The site of each homestead make one understand the diversity of Kenyan cultures and the village life. At the Bomas there is great excitement. A variety of traditional souvenirs are sold and you may be lucky to taste Kenyas specialty – the traditional dishes.

Nairobi National Park is the only park of its kind in the world with wildlife and birdlife in their natural habitation inside a city. The Nairobi National Park is Kenya's unique and unspoilt haven within sight of the city's skyline. The buffalo, rhino, zebra, cheetah, lion and giraffe live and wonder freely in this park. The many antelopes and plenty of gazelles grace the park in their cool attractive colours.

The wildlife can be seen roaming in this open plain chunk of broken bush, scrubs and grass. The more than 300 hundred bird species fly low and high, walk on the grassland, lodge within the trees and bushes, displaying their multiple colours. The ornithologists would find these birds interesting to watch.

Welcome to the Nairobi, nicknamed ‘City in the Sun’, the capital city of Kenya. It is just 15 kms from the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport (JKIA). The main languages spoken here are Swahili and English. There are Police Stations in various parts of the city to manage security of the people.

The police also manage the heavy traffic that occur on the streets during rush hours in the mornings and evenings as people go to and from their offices in the City Centre and its environs. Mamba Village Nairobi is situated an estimated 13 kilometers away from the capital city of Kenya. Drive towards, the Nairobi National Park, pass the depression past the Animal Orphanage. Come to a junction and leaving the Ongata Rongai road to your left and the Bomas of Kenya road to the right, drive straight on past the Catholic University and come to a junction. At this junction the tarmac road to the left goes to Giraffe Centre while the earth road to the right goes to the Mamba Village. Take the Mamba road to the right and drive on for about 2 kms and you are at Mamba Village.

It is located in a spacious and serene environment accessible by a tarmac and all-weather road. Nairobi Mamba Village - just as the name suggests, is the home of Crocodiles in Kenya's capital city. The species found here is the Nile Crocodile - which is one of the three species common in Africa and the biggest as well. Also considered as man-eaters, the Nile Crocodile can, and sometimes does easily snatch and devour human beings at will. Any close encounter with the reptile is to be avoided at all costs.

After breakfast depart for a visit to the famous Karen Blixen Museum, an historical site in the Nairobi city suburb. You will see the breathtaking sprawling stone farmhouse, where Danish author Karen Blixen lived from 1914 to 1931 and where she welcomed her lover, Finch-Hatton. Karen is the author of the book ‘Out of Africa’. Enjoy the beautiful artifacts in the museum.

Karen the Legendary
Since the 1985 Oscar sweep, crowds have doubled at the Blixen manor, now restored as a national museum. The celebrity has led to Karen car-washes, coffee houses, schools and shopping centers. Even the pricey neighborhood of five-acre plots bears her name: Karen Estates. A band of eucalyptus woodland, the Ngong Road Forest, still separates the cool, upland suburb from downtown Nairobi, at 5,500 feet. The house and grounds were presented to Kenya as an Uhuru (Independence) gift by the Danish government.

A manicured walkway circles from Karen Road to the veranda where Blixen spun stories at sundown for guests, most especially Finch-Hatton. Blixen's square corner bedroom, its white wooden bed swaged with mosquito netting, is at the end of a narrow hall. A pair of leather riding boots stands near a chair. Visitors peer in and sign.Spend 2 hours at Karen Blixen Museum then proceed to the Kazuri Beads for another 2 hours. Finally, visit the Giraffe Centre before returning to your hotel.
